THEATRE: Broadway is back! For any of you that do not know, I am headed to NYC to pursue a career in Broadway production. Since March of 2020, Broadway has been on a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As much as Broadway is the corporate, elitist, classist, and racist industry that it can be, it’s also a universal place for theatre people from around the world to call their home. The announced return of Broadway at full capacity in September has been making theatre people like myself giddy! It’s impossible to change this industry without the industry functioning at all. Below is a link with the announced reopening dates for every Broadway show so far! For anyone who is less familiar with the theatre industry, I recommend you give it a chance! It took me years before I discovered just how beautiful the art of theatre can be, and more years after that until I knew it’s what I wanted to do with my life. I will be posting a show recommendation to listen to in every one of these newsletters for you all to listen to. These will all be available on Apple Music and Spotify, so please give them a listen if you get some time! Listen, and let me know your thoughts on the shows! RECCOMENDATION: Hadestown Tony-Award winner for best musical of the year in 2019, this is one of the most talked about shows that will be returning to Broadway. Based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, this show will pull at your heartstrings while also making you dance. Give it a listen!
